  1. According to the oral history Cecil Campbell our Grandfather/Great Granddad went to the Fort in Baltimore. It was the only Military Hospital in the USA at that time. So it seems he was in the military. Mama never forgot what she was told from she was about seven. See www.nps.gov/fomc/historyculture/world-war-i-hospital.htm

  2. That's very inspiring, to uncover the many layers of our past. Grandma's memory was phenominal! To imagine that her stories (as we believed them to be) are becoming real...

  3. It is awesome to see the Spanish Jar (Spana Jar) take shape and become a reality. Ignota is a living legend. Her hopes, dreams and prayers are strong and encompasses us all. This site is a wonderful place for the family to come together and to see prayers and dreams come through. Ignota or Louise as she liked to be called in Ocala is a praying mother and grandmother. She usually calls each one by name before Almighty God. Let us always be guided by the Holy Sprit.

Congratulations Stef in getting this started.

PS: 405 N Spring Street, Baltimore is the address
listed for Cecil in the 1920 Census. Google Map takes you there.

  4. Happy birthday to Joan Pauline Edwards (Big sister) who attained the splendid age of 70 years (three score and ten). Like Ignota Eloise, who is now in her care, she is an extremely hard working and passionate person. She is a lover of God, family and flowers. Take time to honor her. If you pass by her way especially with a laptop, show her the Spanish Blog website. Hip hip Hurrah and many Blessings to Joan Pauline April 16th 2011. Her biggest birthday gift today... she said. "My mother told me Good Morning"

  5. Happy Birthday Big Sis, and in the tradition of Ignota, dont let go of you dreams, they may be long in coming but true. Pauline took over the baton of foundation member St Lukes Anglican Church, Mama must be smiling, it confirms ... her foundation message"what you plant you must reap...plant corn you can't get peas.

    Blessings

  6. This is exciting to see Uncle Leslie, I know
Mama will be pleased to hear that you met and spoke with her cousin. I believe in my heart that she knows we are all working hard to get to the bottom of this family tree that is going to lead us to that Spanish Jar she talked about. Mama may the blood of Jesus cover you and sustain you until He is ready for you and until you get the answer to you searching as we search for you. Someone give her a big hug and kiss from the Fl bunch.
    Love Always
